September Junior Development Coach’s Report

Welcome all juniors and parents. This weekend started with very strong winds with an early 9:00am start on both days.

Our guest coach this weekend was a National coaching director Graeme Boyd. Our juniors attending the weekend program for trap were five, starting with Anthony Bartolo, Brian Camilleri, Darcy Chetcuti, Gemma Dunn, James Tadrosse and Joey Pezzano. There were four shooting skeet, Chris Barber, Josh Bell, Michael Annan, and Ross Tourgelis. Graeme Boyd spoke to the juniors prior going out on both days, about an hour on preparation on shooting.

Graeme and myself took out the juniors on there chosen discipline for preparation on training and competing. With the very strong winds making it difficult for the shooters they all did there best and finished with good results considering the conditions. Graeme also videoed all the shooters on their techniques and concentration then he took the video back to the house and reviewed the video to the shooters. Graeme and I then talked to them on what they need to do and what not to do on preparation on training and competing. Thanks to Graeme for spending his time coaching the juniors and myself as I learnt on coaching and training techniques. I will be keeping all the results and upcoming results on your competition and training.

A big special thanks to all the parents and the sponsors for all the food and drinks- the parents and the sponsors with too many to mention and you know who you are. Also, the juniors that are competing at the state titles in Wagga Wagga good luck and hope you do well. Remember the things you learnt from the program. Good Shooters practice till’ they get it right…Great Shooters practice till’ they never get it wrong.

Yours in shooting Leo

Junior Development Squad Coaches Report

May I start with a few words about the junior development squad program.
The program is working really well with many of our junior shooters improving there shooting.
Congratulations to the juniors that made the skeet and trap teams is was great to see them competing in a team environment.
Now these juniors need to work on what they learnt at the coaching clinic. For the ones that didn’t make the team keep practicing on what you learnt and hope to see you at our next open day in September and I am available on weekends if you like to give me a call.

We have had some fantastic results with the junior development skeet team with Joshua Bell, Chris Barber and Ross Torgerlis representing Cecil Park at the State championships in Wagga Wagga.
The next open day will be on a weekend on September the 26th and 27th at 9am for a 10am start with myself and Graeme Boyd coaching on these two days and it will be open to all Cecil Park juniors.

One of my sayings You can’t be born a champion, you have to practice enough to become one.
Regards Leonardo Pezzano.
